Credits & Account
How the Kolbo Bot shares credits with the web app and how to manage your linked account
The Kolbo WhatsApp and Telegram bots are not a separate product — they are a different front-door to the same Kolbo.AI account. One balance, one history, one subscription.
Shared credit balance
Every generation from the bot deducts credits from the same balance as the web app. If you run out of credits in the bot, you'll also be out on kolbo.ai (and vice-versa). Rough cost ordering matches the web app:
- Cheapest & fastest: chat replies, speech (TTS), sound effects, still images
- Medium: music generation
- Most expensive: video generation
Check your balance anytime by sending:
/creditsFree starter credits
New users who link the bot get 100 free credits automatically. This also creates a free-plan Kolbo.AI account under the email you verified, so you can log in to app.kolbo.ai with the same email at any time.
Upgrading your plan
Plans, billing, and credit top-ups are managed in the web app at app.kolbo.ai. There is no in-bot checkout. Any plan you buy on the web immediately applies to the bot — no re-linking required.
Linking multiple platforms
You can link the same Kolbo account to both WhatsApp and Telegram. Just run the email + OTP flow on each platform using the same email address. Both links share one credit balance and history.
Unlinking (/logout)
To disconnect the current WhatsApp or Telegram identity from your Kolbo account, send:
/logoutEffects:
- The bot stops treating this chat as authenticated.
- Your Kolbo.AI account itself is not deleted — you keep your credits, subscription, and web access.
- You can re-link at any time by running the email + OTP flow again (see Getting Started).
Voice notes
Voice notes are free to transcribe — transcription itself is not billed as a separate generation. Only the action the transcribed message triggers (image, video, music, chat, etc.) is billed normally.
Privacy reminders
- Kolbo does not store your WhatsApp or Telegram phone number beyond the identifier needed to match future messages to your linked account.
- Delete a specific media URL from your Kolbo media library on the web to remove it; it will still have been sent to the chat history on the messenger, which Kolbo does not control.
- Unlinking via
/logoutinvalidates the cached session so the next message from this chat is treated as an unauthenticated stranger.
