Brush-based Replace and Erase modes with Flux Pro Erase for complex surfaces and automatic model switching
The brush tool gives you two modes for editing part of an image: Replace and Erase. Paint a region and either describe what should appear there, or remove it cleanly with no prompt. The model list swaps automatically when you switch modes.
Overview
Inpainting lets you target a specific area of an image with a brush instead of regenerating the whole thing. You control exactly what changes and what stays.
The Two Modes
Replace
Paint a region and describe what should appear there. The model fills the painted area to match your prompt while keeping the rest of the image intact.
Erase
Paint over something and get it cleanly removed. No prompt is needed. Use it to take out objects, blemishes, or distractions.
The model list swaps automatically when you switch modes, so you always have the right models for the task. An Inpaint / Erase shortcut is also available straight from the image right-click menu.
Flux Pro Erase
Flux Pro Erase is a premium dedicated erase model from Black Forest Labs. It produces cleaner removals on skin, hair, and complex textures than the default erase model, making it the right choice when the surface behind the erased region is detailed.
How to Use
- Open the image in the editing tools, or use the Inpaint / Erase right-click shortcut
- Choose Replace or Erase
- Brush over the region you want to change or remove
- For Replace, describe what should appear; for Erase, just generate
- For complex surfaces, switch to Flux Pro Erase for a cleaner result
