First and Last Frame

Interpolate a video between a start image and an end image

Give the AI a starting frame and an ending frame, and it generates a smooth video that transitions between them. First and Last Frame gives you precise control over where an animation begins and where it ends.

Overview

Instead of letting the model choose how a clip evolves, you define both ends of the motion. Upload a first frame and a last frame, and the AI interpolates the in-between, producing a controlled transition from your start image to your end image.

How It Works

  1. Upload the starting frame: the image the video begins on.
  2. Upload the ending frame: the image the video resolves to.
  3. Add a prompt (optional): describe the motion or transition you want between the two frames.
  4. Set your options: choose duration, aspect ratio, and resolution tier on supported models.
  5. Generate: the AI creates a smooth transition from the first frame to the last frame.

Best For

  • Controlled movements where you know the exact end state
  • Specific transitions and reveals
  • Predictable, repeatable results
  • Professional animations that need a defined start and finish

Tips

  • Use a consistent subject, style, and lighting across both frames so the interpolation stays coherent.
  • Keep the change between the two frames within a believable range. Very large jumps are harder for the model to bridge cleanly.
  • Add a short prompt to guide the path of motion when the transition could go more than one way.

Use Cases

  • Product transitions: open to closed, before to after, packaged to unpackaged.
  • Storyboarding: turn two key poses into a moving shot.
  • Reveals: move from a hidden state to a final composition.
