Project Knowledge

Give every project a living memory of your characters, style, story, and audience so Kolbo never asks you to explain your world twice

Kolbo Projects have a memory. A project is not just a place to organize sessions and files; it holds an understanding of your creative world that grows the more you work inside it. Characters, visual style, story, and audience all live in the project and feed every tool automatically.

Overview

Every creative project has a world: characters with names and looks, a mood, a color palette, a tone of voice, a target audience. Without project memory you carry all of that in your head and re-explain it to the AI on every new session.

Project Knowledge holds it for you. Once it is captured, every generation is already oriented in your direction before you say a word.

The Project Profile

As you chat and create, Kolbo builds a living profile of your project automatically. It learns the creative identity behind your work: the recurring characters and visual style, the mood and aesthetic direction, the story you are telling, and the audience you are building for.

You can also write the profile yourself. Describe the project, the world, and the feeling you are going for. That description feeds everything inside the project, from image generation to chat to model selection.

Cast & Assets

The Cast & Assets panel is where your project's roster lives. Build it once and reference it forever.

Add characters, environments, props, and visual styles as reusable entries. Each entry can carry:

  • A Visual DNA, referenced by @name
  • A Moodboard, referenced by #name
  • A short note describing what the asset is, what it looks like, or how it should feel

Once an asset is in your cast, the AI knows it. Say "put @Sophia in #NoirMood" and Kolbo knows exactly who Sophia is, what the Noir Mood palette looks like, and how to combine them. No pasting references, no re-describing. Your cast builds over time until Kolbo knows your entire world.

Knowledge Sources

Your project can know things beyond what you generate inside it. Attach sources and Kolbo reads, summarizes, and indexes them so the project's AI can draw on them:

  • Files
  • Images
  • Websites and links
  • YouTube videos
  • Google Docs
  • Notes

Briefs, research notes, style references, competitor examples, brand guidelines: if it matters to your project, bring it in and the AI will have it in context whenever it is relevant.

It flows everywhere

Project Knowledge is not a separate tool you check. It feeds the whole platform:

  • Chat sessions inside a project start with the project's knowledge already loaded
  • The help assistant knows your cast and context
  • Smart Select model selection is informed by your visual style
  • Generation stays on-brand automatically

You work, Kolbo remembers, and every output builds on what came before.

Who benefits most

  • Brand teams and agencies running multiple clients in parallel: each project holds its own brand voice, visual rules, and asset library, with no cross-contamination
  • Film and content creators managing large casts: characters stay consistent across hundreds of generations
  • Founders and solo creators building over months: what you set up in week one still informs week twelve
  • Teams sharing a workspace: the project profile is the shared brief everyone works from

Tips

  • Write a short profile early so generations start on-brand from day one, then let the auto-built profile refine it as you work.
  • Reference assets by their exact mention name: Visual DNAs by @name, Moodboards by #name.
  • Add brand guidelines and briefs as Knowledge Sources so chat and generation stay aligned without re-pasting them.
